COVID-19 Precautions

What is COVID-19?

COVID-19 Precautions

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).

At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments.

Protecting Our Patients

With or without COVID-19, patient safety is extremely important to us. However during this time we are taking extra precautions to make sure our patients feel as safe as possible when visiting us.

What we are doing to protect you.

  • The treatment room is completely cleaned with antimicrobial solution prior to the your arrival.
  • Dr. Renée will be wearing a protective mask at all times and will use an additional visor and gloves during any treatments.
  • You will have your temperature taken via infrared no touch technology before entering the treatment room.
  • Thorough cleaning will take place between each patient.
  • Any consultation conversations will take place before you are on the treatment chair and will be socially distanced to minimise time spent in the chair.
  • We are spacing our appointments accordingly to allow for the extra cleaning between.
  • This should mean that you never sit with another patient in the waiting area.

Patients are asked;

  • Please wear a mask to the clinic and only remove it when asked to if needed for treatment.
  • To arrive at the exact time of their appointment to minimise crossover in the waiting room.
  • Please don’t bring anyone with you when you arrive.
  • On the rare occasion you are waiting with another patient in the waiting room (we don’t think this will happen), we ask you to please socially distance.

Protecting Our Staff

We believe that the health of our staff is as equally important as that of our patients.

For this reason we ask that you DO NOT attend the clinic if you have the following symptoms:

  • temperature
  • persistent cough
  • diarrhoea
  • sore throat or ANY cold like symptoms

Please do not attend the clinic if you have returned from a country that requires you to self isolate upon arrival in the UK. Only come to see us when the isolation period is up.

We also ask that patients arrive at the clinic wearing a face mask and only remove it when told to do so by Dr. Renée.

Where possible we ask for payments are to be made via contactless transaction
