Nasolabial folds

Why may we need to treat the Nasolabial folds?

Migration of the malar fat pads from the cheeks, places pressure on the nasolabial folds and deepens them over time. These deep lines that run from your nostril to mouth can be a dead giveaway of age, but now they can be eradicated quite simply. The procedure uses dermal fillers to fill in the crease and plump the skin giving it a youthful glow. An affordable treatment that doesn’t take long to administer, doesn’t require surgery and the effects are immediately visible. Results will vary person to person and depend how deep your lines are to start. You can of course decide to use more filler if needed in your individual case. This will be assessed and discussed at your consultation.

How does the treatment work?

Filler is injected underneath the folds using a small needle or a cannula to gently lift them out.

What product is used?

We use a hyaluronic acid filler from Restylane. Usually Restylane Lyft or Defyne.

Will it hurt?

As with most fillers, the needle is very small and there is a local anaesthetic in the filler. If a cannula is used there is almost no pain and the area is not a particularly sensitive area. So all in all, not really!

How long does the treatment take?

15-20 minutes.

Are there any side effects?

As with all injectable treatments there are some side effects such as minor swelling, redness, needle marks and possibly bruising.

These will subside over a few days.

When will I see results?

Results are immediate but you will see the full effect after a few days when the swelling and needle marks have subsided.

How long do results last?

Results last 9-12 months.

The amount of filler needed will be determined during your appointment.
