Filler for neck lines

What kind of neck problems can dermal fillers fix?

Neck lines – why do we get them?

The problems that Dr. Renée sees on necks that fillers can fix generally fall into two areas. Firstly on older necks were the skin has become crepey and thin in texture with elasticity loss and is generally of poor quality. This patient tends to be slightly older (40+ on average).  Then there is the younger patient with good skin quality and texture but several fixed horizontal lines that tend to be genetic. Dr. Renée has a solution for both problems.

What fillers are used for each problem?

If the problem is general ageing and poor texture, Dr. Renée will usually use Profhilo. Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid skin remodelling treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) on the market, especially formulated for people whose skin lacks volume and elasticity. It is injected superficially over the area and stimulates collagen and improves texture. You need a series of treatments, 2-3, a month apart.

If the problem is horizontal lines, Dr Renée uses Restylane Refyne or Defyne, a hyaluronic acid placed directly under the offending lines.

Will it hurt?

It is not overly painful. The needles are tiny and there is local anaesthetic in the filler itself.

How long will it take?

15-20 minutes.

Are there any side effects?

As with all non surgical injectables, some swelling, redness and needle marks and possibly bruising. All are temporary and settle with a few days. The profhilo treatment leaves small bumps over the area (usually 9-12) which slowly dissipate over 24-48 hours – this is normal.

When will I see results?

The horizontal line treatment results are immediate and will also improve over the next 1-2 weeks. The profhilo results develop over 1-4 weeks and improve with each treatment.

How long do results last?

9-12 months.
