Brow lines or 'number 11's'

Why do we get brow lines?

Brow lines, or Glabellar lines, are vertical lines that appear between the eyebrows. For this reason they are often called number 11 lines. These wrinkles can appear over time from the effects of age, sun exposure and habitual frowning, whether while awake, during sleep or due to tension. As a person ages, the skin becomes less elastic and these lines become more pronounced. In some cases, they stay permanently in the skin, making it appear that the person is always frowning or angry. You may feel that in addition to being ageing, these lines make you appear tired or grumpy when you’re nothing of the sort! Because of this, Glabellar treatments can make a difference to your self-perception, emotional wellbeing, and how others perceive you on first impression.

Can they be treated?

Dr. Renée uses a specific pattern of injections designed to relax the facial muscles that cause your frown lines to appear. These muscles are the Corrugator and Procerus muscles, and we will select precise injection points to give the best results.

Large studies have shown the effectiveness of wrinkle-relaxing treatments in reducing the appearance of Glabellar lines and the effect doing so has on mood and depression.

As with all of our procedures, The Non Surgical Clinic is committed to achieving the best aesthetic result, tailored to your individual needs and requirements

How does the treatment work?

A fine needle is used administer a series of injections into the muscle that requires treating.

The injections work to stop signals travelling from the nerves to the muscles, meaning the injected muscle cannot contract. This in turn makes the wrinkles relax and appear smoother!

What product is used?

We use a product from Galderma called Azzalure – Botulinum Toxin Type A
