Gummy Smile Treatment
What is a 'gummy smile?'
For some, the muscle which raises the top lip when we smile is overactive and so the lip becomes thin, revealing the upper gum and not just the teeth when in full smile.
Can this be treated?
Yes!
We can reduce the amount of gum on show when smiling by using a wrinkle relaxing product.
How does the treatment work?
We use two small injections of wrinkle relaxers to leave the smile more natural, showing less gum and the lip remaining fuller when smiling.
Will it hurt?
You may feel some mild discomfort from the needle but apart from that this procedure is relatively pain free.
How long does the treatment take?
5 minutes.
Are there any side effects?
As with all non surgical procedures, when performed by a qualified medical practitioner the risk is very low.
You may experience some sensitivity and mild redness at the injection site.
When will I see results?
You will begin to see results around 2-10 days after treatment, however it may take up to 21 days to see the full effect.
How long do results last?
Results last 4-6 months. Most patients come back to see us around this time for a top up.
